Rail Foreman – Eastern Yards
The National Lime and Stone, a multi-plant natural resource company, has a Rail Foreman position available at its Eastern Region facility of North Canton, OH. Successful applicants will have the following background and attributes:
– Generate daily unloading schedule based on train arrivals
– Allocate employees to facilities to line up with skill sets and train arrivals
– Allocate rail crew to cover for loader vacations
– Allocate rail crew to work/assist in maintenance efforts
– Manage release of trains through ShipCSX, ShipperConnect, etc.
– Manage hours of employees
– Perform safety training to new employees
– Directly supervise hourly rail employees (drive around to each unloading facility each day)
– Verifies proper PPE is worn by all employees
– Covers weekend rail calls with WLE
– Manage EPA logbooks and reporting requirements
– Audit facilities for housekeeping, OSHA, MSHA and company protocol
– Training for rail crew on skid steers
Qualifications:
– High school diploma/GED
– Previous experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment
– Excellent communication skills (efficient, concise, clear); good telephone techniques
– Excellent computer skills – Excel, Outlook, Word, Oracle
– Resourceful and well organized with keen attention to detail
– Results and customer oriented
– Eager to take on more responsibilities as they arise
– Positive and proactive attitude
